Not all Craft lodges have banners and few Mark lodges have them. Banner dedication ceremonies are few and far between in Craft and a rare occurrence in Mark. But Thomas Beevor Mark at Great Yarmouth made history and unveiled their banner at a special meeting attended by the Provincial Grand Master, the Executive and Active Provincial Grand Officers on a Team Visit.

Acting Worshipful Master Ken Healey led the meeting with a few other stand-in officers due to a date change, also the Provincial Director of Ceremonies Mark Cook being a member of the lodge and directing the meeting and ceremonial.

With the Provincial Grand Master David Boswell taking the Chair, the banner was paraded into the lodge, held by Banner Bearer John Capon, a Past Master and current Treasurer who also spent many hours designing the banner and creating the original artwork. Other Great Yarmouth Masons assisted with the creation and manufacture the banner, helping to keep costs to a reasonable and affordable level.

The PGM received the banner, the oration was given by Thomas Beevor Past Master and APGM David Good, with everybody being impressed with the finished banner, which will now be displayed at each meeting and safely stored in its protective case when not in use.

Members, guests and the Provincial Team enjoyed an excellent Festive Board of prawn cocktail, braised blade of beef and cheesecake, in entertaining and enjoyable Mark company.
