West Norfolk Autism Group have been able to purchase a defibrillator, thanks to donation of £300 from Philanthropic Mark Lodge, plus a grant of £574 from the East Anglian Mark Benevolent Association (EAMBA), which met the total cost of the equipment.
This small charity, local to both the Philanthropic Mark and RAM lodges, was set up four years ago and is run by a small number of volunteers, who now support around 350 families. They organise activities which focus on sensory needs, creativity and social interaction which include swimming, bushcraft, soft play, sensory rooms, trampolining, roller skating, gymnastics, board games plus supported days out for adults.
The presentation was made before the start of the recent RAM meeting, with Mark WM David Lucas, RAM WCN Steve Spalding, Secretary/Scribe Danny Cracknell and DPGM Gary Allen presenting the defibrillator to Karan McKerrow and Simon Meerwald from the charity.
