The September Mark Grand Lodge meeting was held at Freemason’s Hall, London and despite some difficulties with transport arrangements, an enthusiastic group of members of the Province of East Anglia were there to support Tony Barrasso when he received his Grand Rank Promotion.
The day began with an outstanding rendition of the Fire regulations by our own Gary Allen which received warm applause from all present.
Apart from the promotions being presented to worthy recipients the ceremony was highlighted by the Installation of RW Bro. Prof Denovan Wilson as the new Deputy Grand Master and he was succeeded as Assistant Grand Master by the installation of RW Bro. Peter Williams, the Past PGM of Kent who was supported by over 100 members from the Kent Province.
One sad element of the day was that the Pro Grand Master John Prizeman had been unable to attend to take the chair due to ill health. All present wished him a speedy recovery.
As usual the festive board was a magnificent occasion which once again demonstrated the camaraderie and friendship that exists between different Provinces of this fine Degree.
The journey home to East Anglia was mainly trouble free, albeit many were a little weary from the extra walking caused by the Underground strikes.
