Cruise2025 2

After a sell-out event last year, the new East Anglian Mark season again started off with another very enjoyable River Cruise along the Norfolk Broads on the Southern Comfort Mississippi Riverboat from Horning.

Just under one hundred brethren and friends enjoyed a welcome bucks fizz, a two course buffet and disco, with many joining in the fun and entering the 1960’s themed fancy dress competition – including the Provincial Grand Master David Boswell and Jenny, also Deputy Provincial Grand Master Gary Allen and Wendy.

Prizes of a bottle of bubbly for the best dressed went to Steve Bullent (Austin Powers), the unrecognisable Clint Vince and flower powered Claire Robinson (wife of Billy). Billy nearly won the prize, but Claire had the better figure and looks! Also giving them a run for their money was Ted Woods as Elvis Presley with his wife Julie, Martin Day looking very dapper and lots of flower power including Anne-Marie Cooke (wife of Andrew) and Penny Roberts (wife of Andy) wearing the same dress!

The disco rocked on the upper deck, especially on the way back when the tranquillity of the Norfolk Broads was certainly disturbed by the music and enthusiastic waving to other sailors, anglers and those trying to enjoy the quiet sunshine on the shore.

Special thanks to another well organised event by Richard Pryor, assisted by Roger Florey, David Fisk, Martin Day and David Good. An excellent buffet supplied by A Piece of Cake, Lowestoft and the disco performed by Tom Cringle.
