REGISTERED CHARITY No 271494

The East Anglia Mark Benevolent Association (EAMBA) is a registered charity with the object of the relief of poor and distressed brother Masons or their poor and distressed widows and children or for the benefit of Masonic or other charities, charitable institutions, societies and objects as shall be from time to time agreed.

Suffolk Mind 1

Further to the East Anglian Mark Benevolent Association awarding a total of £15,000 to the mental health charity Mind across our Province, Suffolk Mind received their £5,000 share from Provincial Grand Master David Boswell.

Across East Anglia, Mind offers an extensive range of mental health services, along with associated training, advice and information. Each grant of £5,000 will make a big difference and can fund the work of the charity in many ways, including:

  • Fully funded mental health training for two entire primary schools including teachers and staff, with further positive impacts on the surrounding families
  • 91 fully funded counselling sessions. Typically, the average person will require six sessions, so this could be a fully funded course of counselling for 15 people
  • The running of their vital phone line for 200 hours

This is another example of how personal and lodge donations to the EAMBA supports local charities in our communities.
