EAMBA SUPPORTS SUFFOLK SEARCH AND RESCUE CHARITY

EAMBA 2025 Suffolk SAR

The Provincial Grand Master David Boswell, accompanied by the Deputy PGM Gary Allen, Assistant PGM David Good, Secretary of the East Anglian Mark Benevolent Association Tom Auber and Past Provincial Charity Steward Trevor Tinley visited the headquarters of Suffolk Search and Rescue to present a cheque for £5,802 to help with the purchase of defibrillators.

We were treated to an extensive tour of their operating base and shown the various vehicles, boats, kayaks and bicycles that they use to aid them in their search and rescue work.

The organisation is completely self funded, highly trained and a valuable resource to Suffolk with its many waterways, forest and coastal paths.

This follows on from similar EAMBA donations for much needed equipment for Lowland Seach and Rescue teams in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

Funding Application: Charitable Donations

The EAMBA Trustees have taken the step of revisiting the way applications are made to the charity for funding.

Going forward, the “Match Funding” and “Grant” application forms have been combined into one new form, which is titled “Funding Application – Charitable Donations.” It is downloadable via the button above.

It is hoped that the simpler way of applying for funding will increase the number of requests received. The guidance notes have also been revised, and lodges should read this section of the form to ensure their application meets the criteria.

The Trustees are aware that many charities and funding bodies within the Province are struggling to meet their goals and needs of their users. It is without doubt that these organisations will require some support, therefore brethren are requested to think about the needs of their local community and consider an application to the EAMBA for support.
