East Anglia Mark Stewards Lodge No 1937

IMG 2956a

A fantastic night of all thats great in Mark Masonry. A group of brethren coming together for their installation ceremony and the finest dinner of the year. A wonderful example of “service before self”.

When I consecrated this lodge it was agreed by the founders that one of the rulers would attend and install the Master, such is the high regard of this lodge. I’ve always had a commitment to a craft lodge on that evening but, on this night I played hooky and came to instal my dear friend Alan Lean. Sometimes we have to do the right thing not that which might be expected of us, this night was just that situation.

I last installed a Master some 20 years ago, so my challenge was to relearn the ritual. It is for others to judge concerning that but, I had a great evening.

If you’ve never been to the stewards installation you really should either work hard and get noticed and perhaps be appointed a provincial steward or blag an invitation. It only happens once a year and I appreciated that the cost is higher than the normal masonic meal but, you get a stunning dinner matched with wine and fantastic company.

This celebration of the Mark Provincial Stewards Lodge is rightly up there as my favourite nights, thank you Stewards for all you do for the Province.
