East Anglian Mark Masons held their first river cruise along the Norfolk Broads, and what an enjoyable sell out event it was.
One hundred Mark Masons, friends and family had a three hour trip from Horning on the Southern Comfort Mississippi paddle steamer, while enjoying a two course buffet, jazz band after being welcomed on board by the PGM David Boswell and his wife Jenny handing out glasses of Bucks Fizz.
There were prizes for the best seafaring fancy dress, with plenty of sailors, including Popeye and the PGM and Jenny, joining in the fun. Being the judge, the PGM wasn’t allowed to win, so awarded the prizes to Brian and Marilyn Durrant, David and Gill Blair with third prize going to Ted “Popeye” Woods and his family Julie, Trevor and Rosie.
Special thanks to Richard Pryor for a very well organised event, A Piece of Cake from Lowestoft for the excellent catering plus Richard’s wife May, David Good and Kathy, Roger Florey and Mike Roberts for helping on the day and the staff on the Southern Comfort for a great trip. The event will be back next summer.
