Our Provincial Grand Lodge meeting took place on 26th June at Ipswich, with around 200 East Anglian Mark Masons and guests from other Provinces attending on one of the hottest days of the year.
The busy agenda included the Investiture of our new APGM David Good who succeeded Richard Styles, and Terry Larkowsky from Yare Valley Mark taking over from Michael Staff as Provincial Grand Secretary. Our new Provincial Wardens are Sutton Glover from Waveney Valley Mark and David Swift from St Winnold Mark over in Downham Market. As well as the other Provincial Officers being appointed and promoted, Tom Hatchett, Roy Woodhouse and Ron March received the Provincial Grand Master’s Order of Merit for their many years of dedicated service and commitment.
PGM David Boswell was very pleased to accept £2,100 from Provincial Charity Steward Nick Berry, which is the profits raised so far from the Bonus Ball Game, which was passed to our own charity the East Anglian Mark Benevolent Association. The PGM also presented £500 to Geoff Spencer of East Anglian Royal and Select Masters for their Sesquicentenary charity appeal.
At the Festive Board, everyone received a splendid lapel pin in the shape of an axe, which will hopefully spark a conversation with a Mason who is not yet in Mark – please encourage your friends to join us.
It was a long day for the Provincial Stewards, DC’s, sound crew, Secretariat and others who help to set up and make the day run smoothly, including many hours of their time before the event. The new Provincial Team is getting ready for the new season which starts shortly and will be getting around the Province. The website https://www.eastangliamark.org.uk/, yearbook and calendar are being updated with the new information, which all contain information to help you enjoy Mark Masonry and visiting throughout East Anglia.
