The Festive Board at St Winnold RAM in Downham Market will be a little different from now on, with W.Bro Keith Cootes presenting the lodge with twenty six wooden cups.

Keith commissioned them after a conversation with W.Bro Bill Hayes-Allen, discussing what life would have been like for Noah and his family on the Ark. They came to the conclusion that a lot of things would have been made from wood. It was decided a set of wooden cups could enhance their usual fish and chip meals, so Keith set about finding a tradesman to make them.

After around two years in research and production, the cups were ready. They are made from oak, sealed with melted beeswax, marked N, J and S and now form part of the lodge dining traditions.
