Masters & Commanders Lunch

Masters+Commanders Lunch 2019 2

Masters and Commanders plus a sprinkling of Provincial Officers, along with our wives and partners, had a very enjoyable lunch at the Riverside House Hotel, Mildenhall on 6 October.

A social occasion to meet up again with those you regularly see around the Province, and for making new friends. If you are a recently Past Provincial Grand Senior Warden, you also try to remember where you met them on your travels!

These events also allow the Province to recognise the work undertaken by the Masters and Commanders in our lodges, while at the same time giving them the opportunity to treat their ladies to a Sunday off. In his speech, the Provincial Grand Master alluded to the fact that some of the ladies iron our white shirts – although I know this isn’t the case in every household!

Thanks must go to Provincial Deputy Secretary Michael Staff for the organisation, the Provincial Grand Master for hosting, Provincial Deputy Director of Ceremonies Bernie Docherty for the formalities, and of course, the ladies for looking so lovely.

The time in the bar and leisurely three course meal, gave plenty of time for chatting and to enjoy the excellent food and surroundings.

Among the pictures you will see our Provincial Secretary wearing his Butlins uniform, flanked by his Assistant and Deputy, the wife of our Provincial Almoner looking shocked that her husband has a drink in his hand, and I must ask the Provincial Grand Senior Warden which aftershave he uses!
