Provincial Grand Lodge 2018

brethren at pgl 2018

WBro Tim Ridley, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, writes:

Whilst having to confess to a little bit of bias, our Provincial Grand Lodge meeting at Suffolk One, Ipswich on Saturday 28 July excelled on all fronts. Magnificent ceremonial, an outstanding meal and the very finest company. As always, it was a delight to see our brethren receiving their well deserved honours and to see their very obvious pride and pleasure in their new ranks. We also said goodbye to three brethren stepping down from Office after many years of devoted service to the Province - W. Bros. David Cuthbert, Trevor Tinley and Michael Scanes. I would suggest they don't get too comfortable in their retirement though, we know where to find them!

We also witnessed the unusual and well deserved award to W. Bro. Nigel Riley of the Province's Order of Service to Mark Masonry in recognition of over 50 years hard work on behalf of both Mark Masonry generally and our Province in particular.

To complete the awards to our brethren, the PGM together with RW Bro. Trevor Walker, the PGM for the Mark Province of Lincolnshire presented a 50 year Certificate to W. Bro. Colin Cook of Gild of Good Fellowship Lodge. The joint presentation marking the fact that Colin was originally Advanced into a Lincolnshire Lodge.

A fabulous day, enjoyed by all who attended. Brethren if you didn't manage to join us this year, please ensure you come along next year, you will be in for a treat.

Setup of the Lodge and rehearsal on the previous night was a most enjoyable precursor to the event proper:
