Harleston based Waveney Valley Mark Lodge have made a donation to the Norfolk and Waveney Prostate Cancer Support Group. The lodge raised £1,000 and made use of the East Anglia Mark Benevolent Association (EAMBA) match funding scheme; who added a further £250.

The funds were raised during the previous year when Colin Clements was Worshipful Master, by holding raffles and social events attended by members and guests.

The support group provides advice and counselling to sufferers of prostate cancer before during and after treatment. Trustee Ray Cossey and his wife Theresa were guests at the Festive Board.

The £1,250 donation allowed the purchase of a projector and life-size model of the male pelvis. It is made of synthetic, bone like material with a highly detailed, carefully coloured pelvic floor, and includes a removable section of the bladder with prostate and seminal vesicles. This makes it easier to explain to patients which muscles they need to exercise and why.
