Quarterly Communication of Mark Grand Lodge - September 2017

Many thanks to all the East Anglian Brethren who came along to the Quarterly Communication of Mark Grand Lodge on Tuesday. We had an impressive turnout from the Province who enjoyed a short but informative meeting in the Grand Temple, including the wonderful sight of one of our members - W. Bro. David Boswell - leading in the Pro Grand Master's procession as Grand Sword Bearer.

The meeting was followed by a very enjoyable meal together at the Connaught Rooms in the very best of company. We all then continued the celebrations at The George on Great Queen Street, giving the chance to catch-up with friends from other Provinces before heading off for our trains.

W. Bro. John Davis, Prov. G.S.D., was attending Mark Grand Lodge with us for the first time. Our PGM asked John to let us know his views on the day:

"As a Mark Master Mason of a number of years I regret to say that I had never visited the meeting at Mark Grand Lodge. This year was different, I was fortunate enough to receive Provincial Honours at Provincial Grand Lodge in July, so decided now was the time. What a meeting!

The September meeting was relatively small compared with Craft Grand Lodge, but had an intimacy and camaraderie it would be difficult to beat. The ritual was very straightforward and sitting with the East Anglia contingent we were very near the front. The formal business was complete in just over an hour and we saw Mark Masonry at its best. The meal at the Connaught rooms was enjoyable and we were all on our way by 5pm in time for some more ‘bonding’ before making our way back to Liverpool Street Station and the train home.

I shall certainly attend again, and I urge all Mark Master Masons to make the effort to come to such a meeting, even if you have not received honours as yet. You will be most welcome!"
